Angela Smith - Tim, Angela's husband first introduced her to Dave Ramsey in 2007. He was determined to prove it was possible for her to be a stay-at-home mom. She was convinced they could never afford it. They had always been pretty good with their finances (or so they thought), but she didn't see how they'd be able to live on one salary with a mortgage, car payment, and school loan. And, she really didn't see how they'd ever be able to pay those things off.
In the end, Tim won. They started tracking their money, using a zero-based written budget and listening to Financial Peace University on audio CD's. Angela continued working and throwing every thing they could find at their debt. Less than 2 years later (20 months, to be exact) they had paid off almost $85,000 in debt, cash flowed $10,000 in other expenses and are DEBT FREE (except for the house). "IT FEELS AMAZING!"
Angela continued working for a few more months until they finished Baby Step #4. After years of hard work and a gazelle focus, she was able to start 2010 as a full-time stay-at-home mom of two. She put her private consulting firm on hold and turned her life to focusing on her family, her faith, and giving back to the community. Now Angela is excited to share her passion for the Dave Ramsey principles through this site, FPU Alumni meetings, and one-on-one budget counseling. Angela and Tim strongly believe in the value of Financial Peace and welcome any opportunity to share that with others. Email Angela

Ken uses his nearly 30 years of experience with IBM - including over a decade as a management consultant specializing in Becoming Customer Centric, customer service, and customer relationship management - along with his Bachelor's in Finance from Northern Illinois University and MBA from the University of Georgia as a base for his financial ministry. After living many of the Dave Ramsey principles for decades (yes, pre-Ramsey), Ken took the next step in living his strength by attending the Dave Ramsey Counselor Training program in Brentwood, Tennessee. He was able to retire at the age of 50 and now enjoys living "like no one else" (Baby Step 7).
The Dave Ramsey Counselor Training has provided a host of tools to help with one-on-one counseling.
